about this project

Lost & Found project is an experimental theatre production which includes a group of ten Russian Jewish actors who were born in the 70's-80's in the Former Soviet Union (FSU) and immigrated to the US with their families. The goal of the project is to give young Jewish-Russian actors an opportunity to become more aware of their family stories through a process of personal research and investigation. During the formation process, actors are participating in a series of improv and experimental movement theatre sessions.

Sophia Romma, New York Times reviewed writer is currently working on interviewing the actors for personal stories from which she is forming the play.
Ben Sargent, director, is working with the troupe on tranforming the stories into a staged production.  Ben Sargent completed his studies in Mhat Institute in Moscow and upon his return to the US formed the well known Studio Six company based on the Russian dramatic school model.

The final production will include an element of experimental theatre techniques.  The play will be presented as snapshots, a dialogue between the past and the present where parallels will be drawn onto how the environment effected the personal stories of the actors.

Living in a modern melting pot, where people migrating from one part of the world to another.. We hope that our stories will inspire other young New Yorkers, regardless of where they come from, to open up their photo albums and ask questions and search for their family stories.

Performances will premier on March 7th in New York. the company is working on hosting more performances in Canada, Russia and Israel.
